The article gives an overview of some of the most important decisions of the Japanese Supreme Court in the area of private law covering the period of November 2015 to October 2016 and thus continuing from where the overview for the year 2015 (ZJapanR/J.Japan.L 43 (2017) 233 ff.) left off.
