Abstract

In his welcome address, Lutz Diwell, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Justice, first made reference to the various events, both within the field of law and without, that took place during the “Germany in Japan Year” 2005-2006, underlining the benefits of legal exchange between the two countries. He then turned to the importance of the topic of “Privatization of Public Corporations,” citing German experiences in this field and outlining issues arising in the context of public corporate governance.
