Das japanische Kartellrecht und dessen neuere Entwicklungen (2)
Abstract
After his short introduction into Japanese antimonopoly law in the last issue of this journal, the author now focuses on recent developments in this specific field of law in Japan. He particularly discusses the implementation of more serious sanctions for cases of illegal conduct, and the deletion of a number of exceptions to the ban on monopolies in the Antimonopoly Law. Furthermore, he points out a change in attitude among officials towards law enforcement for illegal company mergers, which he derives from a new guideline of the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) that was recently published.
